Butter & Egg Days Parade, each spring
In 1918, Petaluma's chamber of commerce branded the town the Egg Basket of the World, and the butter-and-egg heritage became the stuff of local legend. Today the Butter & Egg Days Parade each spring is a full downtown celebration, with the whole county street, vintage tractors, and town pride on display. It is the single best weekend to see Petaluma's character in one place.
Cruisin' the Boulevard, each May
Petaluma was a primary film location for George Lucas's American Graffiti, and the town leans into the legacy with Cruisin' the Boulevard, a classic-car event held each May along Petaluma Boulevard. Restored classics, cruisin' cars, and the old Main Street feel make it a favorite for families.

- Farmer's and artisans' markets through the warmer months in downtown Petaluma.
- Riverfront fests and kayak paddles as the weather warms across the city's waterfront parks.
- The holiday season downtown, when the Clock Tower block and the boulevard light up.
