Santa Rosa is Sonoma County's largest city and its county seat, with everything that implies: the county's biggest job base, its widest range of housing, its largest hospitals, and a real downtown anchored by the old courthouse square. It is also the city Luther Burbank made famous for gardens, and it keeps a surprisingly grounded, neighborhood-first feel given its size. If you want urban-scale amenity with North Bay character, Santa Rosa is the market.
